Dr. Mahendra Kapu

Owner / Veterinarian

Dr. Kapu is a compassionate and experienced veterinarian. He has been practicing small animal medicine in the Dallas area at various small animal clinics and emergency animal hospitals since 2013. Before that, he practiced small animal medicine in Pennsylvania at multi-doctor clinics for 6 years. He grew up in India where he attended vet school and graduated in 1999. He moved to the United States in 2000 with the hope of practicing higher-quality veterinary medicine. He enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine but has a special interest in preventive medicine, emergency medicine, and diagnostic ultrasound. Dr. Kapu is a member of AVMA, CCVMA and VIN.

Liz Wilcher

Practice Manager/Senior Technician

Our Practice Manager, Liz, has always known she was meant to work with animals. She was riding horses before she learned to walk, and bringing home every injured or stray creature that crossed her path. From bottle-raising litters of orphaned puppies and kittens to rehabilitating injured opossums, squirrels and raccoons, Liz is happiest when surrounded by furry friends of all kinds. She and her husband, Bruce, have a houseful of pets and have passed on their love of animals to their four children and six (so far) grandsons. Liz has worked in the veterinary field since 1999, and has been part of the Pet Vet team since 2008.

Interests: Outdoors/nature, animal rescue and rehab, volunteering at church, spending time with her horse and her family

Tiffany Laskowski

Groomer

Tiffany is our professional pet stylist/groomer. She has a great love for animals and enjoys making pets look their best. She knows that grooming is important to help maintain the wellness of a pet’s ears, eyes, coat, skin, and teeth. Tiffany uses a blueberry facial and specialty shampoos with all her baths. Her services also include nail grinding, ear cleaning/plucking, anal gland expression, breath freshener, and fluff drying every dog.

Interests: Hiking, horseback riding, spending time with family and her animals, including several reptiles

Rodney Leach

Kennel Manager

Rodney joined Pet Vet Animal Hospital in March 2015. He has been a professional kennel manager for years.

Prior to joining our team, his performance in the field was recognized by Fortune 500 companies and he was named “Kennel Manager of the Year, North America”. Rodney has a love for all animals and makes the comfort and happiness of our boarding patients his primary goal.

Interests: Hiking, herpetology, animals of all kinds, movie memorabilia, cars/motorcycles

Alex Sanchez

Technician

Alex began working at the clinic as an intern while he was still in High School, and was later hired to continue his education in animal medicine. Alex has been living in the Farmer’s Branch/ Carrollton area all his life.

Alex’s love for working with animals led him to begin his career in the veterinary industry at the young age of 17. He finds animals to be fun and unpredictable, and enjoys the challenge of working with them.

Outside of work, Alex serves in the Army Reserve and is passionate about physical fitness. When he’s not at the gym or spending time with his friends, he loves to relax at home with his dogs.

Angel Caldwell

Technician

Angel Caldwell has been with Pet Vet Animal Hospital since 2018.

Angel’s desire to become a veterinarian inspired her to begin working in the veterinary industry. She wanted to experience the clinic environment and learn more about animal care. Her favorite part of working with animals is the cuddly moments she gets to share with the patients.

Outside of work, Angel enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking care of her dogs, and taking naps. She also goes to the gym and studies for school in her free time. In addition to her love for animals, Angel enjoys arts and crafts when she has the time.

Aileen Salazar

Receptionist and Tech Assistant

Aileen Salazar is a receptionist and tech assistant at Pet Vet Animal Hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry, having graduated from TWU in 2018. Aileen’s passion for science led her to collaborate with Dr. Tina L Gumienny and Bhoomi J Madhu on a micropublication. Dr. Gumienny, a renowned geneticist, and Bhoomi were both outstanding mentors who positively impacted Aileen’s life.

Aileen joined the veterinary industry in 2022, and she has enjoyed meeting new people and their pets. Her favorite thing about working with animals is getting to know each one’s unique personality. Aileen loves seeing dogs happy when their owners pick them up from grooming.

When she’s not at work, Aileen spends time with her four cats: Duchess, Harvey, Cinco, and Luigi. She loves to knit, bake, and watch anime during her free time. Aileen’s positive attitude towards life drives her to make a difference in people’s lives and brighten their day.
